Aharon Katzir (1914
–
1972) was a pioneer in the
study of the
electrochemistry of
biopolymers.
Born 1914 in Lodz,
Poland, he moved to
Israel in 1925, where he
taught at the
Hebrew University in
Jerusalem.
He was killed in the
terrorist attack on Lod Airport
in 1972.
Israel has since issued a
postage stamp in his memory.
His younger brother,
Ephraim Katzir, became the
President of
Israel in 1973.
